FAQS

Sound Healing & Reiki has been known to elicit many different responses. Some of the most common responses include, but again are not limited to, a feeling of warmth over areas of the body, a sense of peace and relaxation, and decreased anxiety and tension, visuals and dream like state.

Because each individual is different, his or her response will be different depending on healing necessary. Some clients state feeling an immediate change, heightened intuition, clarity, feeling calm, lighter and overall more relaxed, while others have stated it has taken a few days, or even weeks, to recognize the positive effects. From time to time, these sessions can initially elicit emotional responses, fatigue, and body aches as it can also be a cleansing and detoxification process for many. The powerful vibrations can sometimes lead to headaches or dizziness in sensitive people.

Sound Bath typically lasts for 50 mins with time for quite reflection and journaling after the session. For Reiki, an initial consultation is recommended at 1 hour, with at least 60 minutes of Reiki healing and time to process any messages received by the practitioner, and/or client. Of course, if the client has a request in terms of time frame, it will be honored.

It is truly up to the individual receiving treatment. Reiki is considered safe for everyone.

Sound healing triggers the release of oxytocin, a hormone involved in bonding, love, and labor. While oxytocin release is usually beneficial, in pregnant women, particularly in the later stages, it could potentially stimulate early labor.  You should consult your doctor before attending, especially during the first and third trimesters.

If you have a history of heart conditions or have a pacemaker, it’s essential to consult your healthcare provider before attending a sound healing session, especially one that involves strong vibrations, such as a gong bath. These vibrations could affect the pacemaker or create discomfort for those with certain heart issues.

Although sound healing is generally safe, some uncertainty exists about its effect on individuals with metal implants like pins or plates. While the research is inconclusive, it’s wise to speak with a medical professional beforehand.

Notify your therapist so they can make necessary accommodations to ensure your comfort and safety during the session.

Sound healing can be incredibly beneficial for mental health, helping to release emotional blockages and promote relaxation. However, those with mental health concerns should speak with their practitioner in advance. Sound healing often triggers emotional releases, which can bring up intense feelings. The practitioner will create a safe and supportive environment, allowing you to explore and process these emotions at your own pace.

Loose and comfortable clothing should be worn during treatment. Clothing is kept on during the entirety of the session except for shoes and any metal. Jewelry does not need to be removed.
